The primary difference between an LED fixture and a standard light fixture is the light source. LED fixtures have a permanently installed LED light source, whereas traditional fixtures require light bulbs that need to be replaced periodically. This eliminates the hassle of changing light bulbs, a task that has long been an accepted part of home maintenance.

LED fixtures offer significant cost savings in three main ways. First, they consume much less energy than traditional light sources, typically using around 15-20 watts to produce the same brightness as a 100-watt incandescent bulb. Second, there are no replacement bulbs to purchase, as the LED light source is designed to last for at least 50,000 hours, or over 22 years of use at 6 hours per day. Finally, the lack of maintenance required to change bulbs results in further savings.

In addition to the cost savings, LED fixtures offer a range of color temperature options to suit different preferences and applications. Warm white (2700-3000K) is the most popular choice for residential outdoor lighting, creating a friendly, inviting atmosphere. For indoor spaces, warm white is often the preferred option, while brighter color temperatures like bright white (4000K) or daylight white (5000K) can be used in hallways, bathrooms, and dressing rooms to create a more spacious and crisp appearance.

The color rendering index (CRI) is another important factor to consider when selecting LED fixtures. CRI measures how accurately a light source represents colors compared to natural daylight. For indoor applications, especially in bathrooms and dressing rooms, it's recommended to choose fixtures with a CRI of 80 or higher to ensure accurate color representation.
